Promoting Research in Costume and Performance Costume Symposium 2006 will be hosted by BA (Hons) Costume for the Screen & Stage at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth. It brings together industry professionals from across the UK and speakers from America.
The symposium presents a unique opportunity to share knowledge and experience with leading practitioners who are shaping the future for costume design and education. This inspired innovative and exploratory discussion into the design forum by individuals/professionals who have all made a major contribution to the industry and education.
The 2006 Costume Symposium follows on from last year’s successful symposium at the Wimbledon School of Art.
“Costume Symposium 2006 – Academic Research Papers” will be published by the Arts Institute at Bournemouth as a result of the Symposium.
Academic research in costume is becoming an increasingly important part of the work of academics and as a learning resource.
With no platform to share research costume courses in the U.K. have joined together in this initiative to develop opportunities to share research and scholarly activity.
The symposium is the result of the joint ambition of costume courses in the UK to create a venue to share good practice and academic research.
